Bright lights, yellow cabs and $100,000 bags
Here's all the gossip from when Dominique and Candice took New York for the annual Christie's Owners Conference.
The three day conference commenced on May 5th starting with a welcome banquet at The Plaza hotel to meet the Christie's affiliates worldwide! Connections were made with affiliates across the Caribbean like Bahamas, Cayman Island, Dominican Republic and from the wider network with Marbella, The Netherlands and France!
On day two we heard the CEO of Christie's International Real Estate, Thad Wong and the founder of Compass Inc, Robert Reffkin speak on a panel about the opportunity of the Christie's and Compass brands. Dominique, our CEO, spoke on the Global Markets + Trends panel, representing the whole Caribbean, along with Jackie Johns from CIRE Dubai and Harmeet Singh Bedi from CIRE Singapore. Topics ranged from market status and buyer demographics to tech and ai influence on buyer engagement and looking towards the future. Charlotte Delaney, head of affiliates services at Christie's moderated the panel
"The Caribbean is known for sun sea and sand. Most islands depend on tourism, but the #2 driver of the GDP is real estate. The Caribbean is a rapidly growing second home market with buyers primarily from the UK, USA and Canada. You're clients are our clients. Its also a rapidly growing residential resort market with large brands like the Ritz Carlton and St Regis not only having hotels, but building residences. "
On day three, attendees headed to Rockefeller Center for a tour of the Christie's auction house. Candice provided inside access of the art work, fine goods and opulent jewelry on display; from an Andy Warhol original to a $100,000 Hermes Kelly. The synergies between the luxury real estate brand and the auction house couldn't have been more apparent; Christie's is where luxury lives.
The conference wrapped up with a closing dinner back at the Plaza Hotel where all of the Christie's network was really able to connect in one of the oldest way known to man; Over a good meal.
